Shaykh Muhammad al-Yaqoubi
Guidance Hub is honoured to announce this seminar will be taught by Shaykh Muhammad al-Yaqoubi the leading scholar of Islamic jurisprudence and hadith who has made significant contributions to Islamic research, education, and literature. For several years, the Royal Aal al-Bayt Institute for Islamic Thought has recognised him as one of the 50 most influential Muslims in the world.

As a globally influential religious leader and respected jurisconsult, his research and fatwas have addressed arising challenges of Muslims across world and political dilemmas in the 21st century.

From the beginning of the Syrian conflict in 2011, his fatwas were crucial in guiding the public and belligerents. Most notably, he issued the most comprehensive edict against Daesh to date, Refuting ISIS, in 6 languages, tackling and deconstructing their theological underpinnings. Hailed by critics, this fatwa has been pivotal in deradicalizing many minds.
Shaykh Muhammad’s other works include:
1.       A Portrait of the Beloved Muṣṭafā (Shamāʾil al-Ḥabīb al-Muṣṭafā) – comprehensive collection of hadith pertaining to the Shamāʾil genre.
2.       The Laws of Pricing (Aḥkām al-Tasʿīr) – thorough investigation of government price controls in Islamic law.
3.       The Role of a Judge’s Private Knowledge (Ḥusn al-Fahm li Masʾalat al-Qaḍāʾ bi al-ʿIlm) – study of the Islamic legal position on judges using their private knowledge in court cases.
