Introduction
This unit is suitable for all levels, from absolute beginners and new Muslim to advanced students.

In this unit you will study a classical text of Islamic Theology (Aqida), The Resplendent Pearls (Al-Fara'id Al-Hisan) to explore core Islamic beliefs about matters of the unseen including.

In an age of information, Muslims face many challenged about their faith and beliefs. Although the basis of Islam is revelation, there is a growing need to rationalise our beliefs to effectively present them to the wider world as the ultimate truth.

Therefore, along with analysing the scriptural basis for these doctrines in the Quran and Sunnah, you will evaluate an array of rational responses to answer septics.

Unit Aims
To introduce key Islamic doctrines pertaining to the Unseen.
To provide a scriptural basis for learned doctrines.
To understand rational justifications for these beliefs.

What will I learn?
You will learn about a variety of topics including:

Destiny, Divine Power, and Freewill
Resurrection and Judgement Day
Levels of Paradise and Hell
The World of Angels and Jinn
The World of Barzakh
Miracles and Sainthood

What will I achieve?
By the end of this unit, you should be able to:

Explain central tenets of faiths;
Evaluate a range of rational proofs for key beliefs;
Describe the Islamic view of the Unseen.

Shaykh Waseem Ahmed
Manchester
Shaykh Waseem is originally from Sheffield and currently resides in Manchester where he is the chairperson for ISNAD Institute and Director of the community initiative, Guidance Hub.

He spent 7 years in Damascus, Syria, privately studying Theology, Jurisprudence, Legal Theory, Rhetoric, Logic and other disciplines with leading scholars including Shaykh Adnan Darwish and the late Shaykh Rashad Al-Shams. He also studied various branches of Arabic linguistics at Abu Nur Institute and specialised in Hanafi Legal Reasoning under Shaykh Mazin Bakir.

In 2008, alongside his private studies, he was accepted onto the accelerated programme at Dawli Institute for Arabic and Islamic Sciences, in Damascus, which he completed in 2012.

All our classes are based within a classroom environment giving you the best opportunity and comfortability to make the most of your learning experience.  Getting here will be easy whether you are travelling by car or public transport.

The Academy is easily accessible from the motorway and the metro-link there is a tram stop within a few minutes walk (Monsall Stop)

Parking
There is a free car park available at the venue, if the spaces are full there is also free parking on the surrounding streets.  You will need to use the side entrance to the Manchester Communication Academy, "The Sports Entrance"
