Course overview
The Companions
The word 'Sahaba' translates to Companions (male and female), the Companions of The Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him. There is a colossal amount of reports about the lives and times of the Sahaba. They are the best of people after the Prophets, therefore it is incumbent we look into their lives and explore further details of their struggles.
In their actions we find the perfect example and guidance for Muslims today. They sacrificed their lives and wealth for the sake of Islam and succeeded in assisting Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him, spread the message of Islam and echo its teachings across the globe.
Learning about the Sahaba is a means of becoming altruistic and generous by witnessing their massive sacrifices. As we go through lives of these great individuals we will be inspired to emulate them and their immense efforts in serving others and improving ourselves as servants of Allah.

Shaykh Waseem Ahmed
Manchester Shaykh Waseem is originally from Sheffield and currently resides in Manchester where he is the chairperson for ISNAD Institute and Director of the community initiative, Guidance Hub. He spent 7 years in Damascus, Syria, privately studying Theology, Jurisprudence, Legal Theory, Rhetoric, Logic and other disciplines with leading scholars including Shaykh Adnan Darwish and the late Shaykh Rashad Al-Shams. He also studied various branches of Arabic linguistics at Abu Nur Institute and specialised in Hanafi Legal Reasoning under Shaykh Mazin Bakir. In 2008, alongside his private studies, he was accepted onto the accelerated programme at Dawli Institute for Arabic and Islamic Sciences, in Damascus, which he completed in 2012. |
