﷽‎
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

Rabi-al-Awwal 1442

Rabi-al-Awwal is the 3rd month in the Islamic Calendar. In Arabic, the word 'rabi' means spring while 'al-awwal' means the first, hence Rabbi ul Awwal as a whole translates into 'The First Spring'. It is one of the most significant months in Islamic history, because humanity was blessed by the birth of the Prophet ﷺ during this month.

Allah chose Rabi-al-Awwal to send the Prophet ﷺ into the world, and to take His Beloved ﷺ back to Him.
Out of the twelve months in the lunar calendar, He chose to bless only Rabi-al-Awwal in this way.

Therefore, it is of course a special month and deserves our attention and respect. To honour and commemorate it in the best way possible we have set up a number of events and initiatives that embody the teachings of the beloved Prophet
ﷺ, please join and support us during this blessed month and together we can reap the rewards of these beautiful actions.

Monday 26th October 2020 - Feeding the Homeless

The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said:
"The best of you are are those who feed others."
- Musnad Ahmad

We will begin the month by spreading the Prophetic message and love of the Prophetﷺ by feeding the homeless and needy in our community. Homelessness is an increasing problem in our communities and affects people from all walks of life. The COVID-19 global pandemic has intensified this situation and has also left many families on the brink of homelessness and in desperate situations. We hope that by taking part in this blessed sunnah act we are able to provide some relief to those who are in need and also to spread the teachings of our beloved Prophetﷺ.

Saturday 31st October 2020 - Exhibit of Love

2020's biggest virtual event in honour of the Prophetﷺ.

This online event will help instill a deep display of love and affection for the beloved Prophetﷺ. Through recollecting his ﷺ noble life, narrating his ﷺ beautiful description, mentioning his ﷺ unique traits and attributes and sending salawat upon him ﷺ.

We aim to stir souls and bring the closer to Allah SubHanuhu wa Ta’ala by helping them fall in love with the beloved Prophetﷺ.

Strengthen your bond with the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, by joining us for this momentous occasion as we collectively showcase our love for the final Messenger ﷺ.

Monday 2nd November 2020 - Gifts to Hospitals

The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said:
"Feed the hungry, visit the sick and set the captives free."
- Sahih Bukhari

We hope to revive the blessed sunnah of visiting the sick by distributing gifts to local hospitals in celebration of the blessed month of the birth of the Prophetﷺ. Due to COVID-19 restrictions we will not be able to visit inside the hospitals but hope that giving these gifts will bring a small joy to those who receive them.

Monday 9th November 2020 - Visiting the Elderly

The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said:
“Those who do not show mercy to our young ones and do not realise the rights of our elders are not from us.”
- Sunan Abu Dawood

With the intention of following the blessed sunnah of looking after our elderly we will be distributing gifts local care homes for the elderly. Care homes and the elderly have been some of the most impacted from the COVID-19 pandemic. Many have passed away and others have had severe strains put on their mental and physical health. In order to stop the spread of the virus almost all care homes have stopped families visiting or have had to put in high degrees of restrictions. We hope that by distributing these small gifts we can bring about a little joy to the residents and spread the love of the Prophetﷺ in their hearts.

Sunday 15th November 2020 - Children's Story Night

The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said:
"None of you will have faith till he loves me more than his father, his children and all mankind.”
- Sahih Bukhari

Our monthly children's story night will resume after many months for this special online event where we will go through the life of the Prophetﷺ with our guest teacher Shaykh Muhammad Imran from Bolton, United Kingdom. This event will be live-streamed for everyone to access.

Monday 16th November 2020 - Distributing Gifts to the Homeless

The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said:
“Exchange presents with one another. Presents remove ill-will from the hearts.”

- Tirmidhi

We will be distributing small gifts and winter essentials to those that are homeless or in need in our communities. We pray that through this act it we can spread the love and mercy taught by the Prophetﷺ in our communities.

Invest in the Prophetic Mission

This Rabi Al-Awwal, what better way to honour the tradition of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ than following his guidance and best example.

The COVID-19 pandemic has made it an especially challenging time for Guidance Hub and for most other charities. We are facing difficulties in our finances and your support is critical during this time in order for us to continue serving the thousands of people in our community and around in the world, and propagating the Prophetic legacy.

Support us by becoming a Regular Donor (from as little as £2.50 per week) and earn a share in the reward of all the work that we do - Every salah that is prayed, every Ayah of the Quran that is recited, every person that learns about their deen, every Dhikr gathering that takes place, every person that takes Shahada - You will share in this continuous reward (Sadaqah Jariyah) Insha'Allah.

On the authority of Abu Hurairah (r.a) from the Prophet Muhammad
ﷺ, who said "Allah (SubHanuhu wa Ta’ala) said:
'Spend (on charity), O son of Adam, and I shall spend on you.' "
