Shaykha Noshin Gul was born in Birmingham and currently resides in Liversedge, West Yorkshire. After completing her undergraduate degree in Applied Chemistry and postgraduate studies in Material Engineering in 2005, she travelled to Syria in the pursuit of authentic traditional sacred knowledge. She spent two years in Damascus, studying Arabic at Abu Nur Institute, as well as Tajwid and other disciplines such as Theology, Jurisprudence, Hadith, Legal Theory and Hadith Principles with leading scholars of Syria. Ustadh Amin was born and raised in Manchester. He began his Islamic studies at a young age and acquired the basics of the Arabic Language and studied doctrine and jurisprudence.
He descends from a family of notable scholars. His forefathers include Shaykh Shukri Al-Astewani, (Grand Mufti of Syria), Shaykh Abdul Muhsin Al-Astewani (Supreme Shari'ah Judge in Damascus) and Shaykh Zain Ud-Deen Al-Astewani (Grand Mufti of Damascus). His great grandfather Shaykh Mohammad Saleem Al-Astewani (d.1945) was a renowned Hanafite scholar in Damascus who accompanied the Hadith Master of the Levant Shaykh Badrud-Deen Al-Hasani for 36 years.
