​Hadith Recital 2025

Full Recital of al-Sunan of Abu Dawud and al-Jami' of al-Tirmidhi with Shaykh Muhammad al-Yaqoubi
Thank you for joining us for a landmark moment in the UK: the full recital of al-Jami' of al-Tirmidhi with one of the world’s foremost scholars of Hadith, His Eminence Shaykh Muhammad al-Yaqoubi. This rare and unique event will take place at Ashton Central Mosque, Ashton-under-Lyne, United Kingdom, starting on 22ndth December 2025 and concluding on 3rd January 2026. 
The recital of al-Sunan of Abu Dawud will take place 22nd–26th December 2025 and recital of al-Jami' of al-Tirmidhi 27th December 2025 - 3rd January 2026. Offering participants a rare opportunity to complete two of the six most authentic hadith collections in succession under the guidance of Shaykh Muhammad al-Yaqoubi.
Please note: registration for each recital is separate, attendees wishing to participate in both must complete registration for both events individually.
Event Highlights:
  • Complete Recital: Immerse yourself in the profound teachings of al-Jami' of al-Tirmidhi studied under Shaykh Muhammad al-Yaqoubi.
  • Ijazah Awarded: Attendees will receive an ijazah in Hadith, a traditional certificate of authority to narrate hadith, granted by Shaykh al-Yaqoubi, who has one of the highest chains of transmission in our time.
Event Details:
  • Dates: 27th December 2025 - 3rd January 2026
  • Venue: Ashton Central Mosque, Hillgate Street, Ashton-under-Lyne, Greater Manchester, OL6 9JA
  • Accommodation: Accommodation is not included. Attendees are responsible for arranging their own accommodation. Limited spaces may be available at Ashton Central Mosque (see FAQs).
  • Additional Information: A light lunch and evening meal will be provided for all registered attendees. Unfortunately, we are unable to cater for specific dietary requirements. 
  • Administration Fee: A small administration fee of £50 will be charged per attendee to cover costs related to the administration of the recital and ijazah process.

Khatam Ceremony (Saturday 3rd January 2026)
On Saturday 3rd January 2026, we will host a special khatam ceremony to mark the momentous completion of the recitals of al-Sunan of Abu Dawud and al-Jami’ of al-Tirmidhi. This gathering will be open to the wider public with many special guests attending and is expected to be a truly historic and spiritual finale.

FAQs
Q. Will the event be delivered in English?
A. The event will be conducted completely in Arabic.
Q. Will there be an official text that will be read from?
A. Details of a recommended copy will be shared before the start of the recital. It will not be compulsory to use this copy.
Q. Will there be accommodation available at Ashton Central Mosque?
A. Limited accommodation will be available at Ashton Central Masjid for brothers. This will be strictly by registration, please contact the masjid management to enquire about availability. To enquire please email [email protected].
Q. Will there be facilities in the mother and baby room for changing and feeding?
A. Yes.
Q. Is there an option to attend a few days for those who cannot attend the full event?
A. There is limited capacity for this event. Priority will be given to those able to the attend the complete recital. If spaces are available day passes will be made available for those who are not attending the full recital.
Q. Is there a deadline for registration?
A. There is no deadline to register. However, there is a maximum capacity. Once the maximum capacity is reached a waiting list will be activated.
Q. Is there a minimum age for Ijazah and will a young child qualify for ijazah if they are present in the entire gathering?
A. There is no minimum age for ijazah, anyone attending the whole gathering will receive ijazah insha'Allah. For babies accompanying their mothers please complete a separate registration for them, so that we have their details for the ijazah.
Q. Will the recital be live-streamed?
A. There is no live-stream option to attend the hadith recital. A live-stream of the khatam ceremony will be available on the official YouTube page of Shaykh Muhammad al-Yaqoubi.
Q. Do I need to register seprately for the al-Sunan of Abu Dawud recital?
A. Yes. Registration for al-Sunan of Abu Dawud is separate. If you wish to attend both recitals, you must complete registration for each event individually.
Q. Can children attend the recital?
A. Yes, children are welcome to attend under the following conditions:
  • They remain under the full responsibility and supervision of their parent/carer at all times.
  • Young children and babies will only be permitted in the mother and baby room.
  • Children must be able to sit quietly and respectfully during the sessions so as not to disturb the gathering.
  • Any child who attends the entire recital will also receive ijazah.
  • Babies and young children accompanying their parents must still be registered individually so that their names can be included in the ijazah record.



Terms & Conditions
By registering for and attending this Hadith recital, all attendees agree to the following Terms & Conditions:

1. General Conduct & Etiquette1.1 This is a scholarly and sacred gathering centred on the words of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. Attendees are expected to observe the highest standards of adab (Islamic etiquette), respect, and good conduct at all times.
1.2 Disruptive, disrespectful, rude, aggressive, or inappropriate behaviour — whether towards organisers, staff, volunteers, or fellow attendees — will not be tolerated under any circumstances.
1.3 The organisers reserve the absolute right to withdraw any individual from the event, temporarily or permanently, should their behaviour be deemed inappropriate or contrary to the spirit and objectives of the gathering. No refund will be issued in such cases.

2. Compliance with Instructions2.1 All attendees must comply with instructions issued by the organisers, event marshals, mosque staff, or authorised volunteers.
2.2 This includes, but is not limited to, instructions relating to seating arrangements, timings, access to designated areas, safety procedures, crowd management, and programme adjustments.

3. Attendance & Punctuality3.1 Regular and punctual attendance is expected throughout the duration of the recital.
3.2 Late arrival, early departure, or repeated absence may affect eligibility for certification.

4. Programme Changes4.1 The organisers reserve the right to amend the daily schedule, session timings, or programme structure as required, including extending or shortening sessions, to ensure the successful completion of the recital.
4.2 Attendees are expected to remain flexible and cooperative with any such changes.

5. Recording & Media5.1 Audio or video recording may be restricted. Attendees must adhere to all instructions regarding recording devices, mobile phones, and photography.
5.2 Any unauthorised recording, reproduction, or distribution of event content may result in removal from the event.

6. Ijazah Certificate6.1 Attendance at the recital does not automatically guarantee the granting of an Ijazah certificate.
6.2 The organisers reserve the absolute right to withhold an Ijazah certificate for any reason they deem necessary, including but not limited to:
  • Poor conduct or lack of adab
  • Disruptive or inappropriate behaviour
  • Incomplete attendance
  • Failure to follow instructions
  • Any action deemed contrary to the sanctity or objectives of the recital
    6.3 All decisions regarding the granting or withholding of Ijazah certificates are final and not subject to appeal.

7. Refund Policy7.1 Refund requests must be submitted in writing.
7.2 Full refunds will be issued for cancellations made up to 14 days before the event start date.
7.3 No refunds will be issued for cancellations made within 14 days of the event start date.
7.4 No refunds will be issued to attendees removed from the event due to breach of these Terms & Conditions.

8. Removal from the Event8.1 The organisers reserve the right to refuse entry or remove any attendee from the event at any stage, without explanation, if deemed necessary to preserve the integrity, safety, discipline, or sanctity of the gathering.

9. Liability9.1 Attendance is at the individual’s own risk. The organisers, mosque, and event staff accept no responsibility for loss, theft, damage, or injury to persons or personal property during the event, except where required by law.

10. Acceptance of Terms10.1 Registration for and attendance at this event constitutes full acceptance of these Terms & Conditions.
