Many people aspire to understand the Quran, to connect with it, and to uncover its rich meanings which have shaped humanity and great civilisations for the last fourteen centuries.

Using classical, proven methods combined with contemporary techniques, this course will act as a springboard to accessing the language of the Qur’an and Hadith. Successful students will gain the ability to read short simple sentences and passages of texts from the above two sources.

This is a beginner’s level classical Arabic language course and is designed for students who have previously acquired the ability to read the Arabic script (such as the Qur’an). No previous experience in writing Arabic is required, however a student must be willing to write in the Arabic script to complete written tasks. Some pointers will be given to students to help with writing skills.

There will be a major focus on (Qur’anic) lexis acquisition as well as a basic study of Arabic grammar and morphology rules through the Qur’anic text.
Prerequisites:

- Recognition of Arabic Script and a willingness to write in Arabic script.

- The main prerequisite for the diploma is a strong passion for learning the language of the Qur’an
