Course Synopsis
A 32 week beginners Islamic studies programme that covers the essentials every Muslim must learn. Subjects include: Aqeedah (Beliefs), Fiqh (Purification, Prayer, Alms & Fasting), Spirituality & Qur'an (please download brochure below for detailed breakdown).
We aim to equip students with the obligatory knowledge needed to practice their faith with confidence. Developing the student's belief, understanding of the legal rules of worship and improving their practice of spirituality. This is done through a modern approach using integrated modules and with the assistance of the latest technological aids to improve the delivery and facilitate successful learning.
Our aim is to facilitate the study of Sacred Knowledge in a traditional way, giving students the opportunity to benefit from the company and instruction of teachers with a chain of transmission linking back to our noble Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. All the texts taught on this course have been distilled from the most authentic classical Islamic sources, as well as authoritative contemporary research.
On successful completion of the course students will receive a certificate of attendance.

Course Structure
There are two options available for Foundations of Islam classes, either Saturday mornings (livestream available), time: 10:00am - 12:00pm OR Tuesday evenings (On-Campus only) time: 7:30pm - 9:30pm. Course Duration: 32 Weeks.

Stories from The Straight Path
This year we are also offering a unique course combining the lives fo selected prophets, leading up to the life of our Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. We will then take a look at the life of some of the Companions of the Prophet ﷺ.
Stories from The Straight Path
The first part of the course covers the lives of some of the prophets such as Adam, Nuh, Ibrahim, Yusuf, Musa and Isa, peace be upon them all. We will learn the challenges they faced and how the faith they had was the same tradition that Islam came to confirm.
In the second part, the course covers the biography of our Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. We learn about his early life, travels and marriage. We then take a look at his ﷺ mission covering 23 years of struggle, starting with the first revelation in the cave of Hira to his demise in al-Madinah.
The third instalment takes us through the lives of the Companions, how they embraced Islam wholeheartedly and how they continued living and spreading the message of Islam after the Prophet's passing.

Our Teachers
Our teachers are native English speakers born in the United Kingdom. They regularly travel across the country to convey traditional Islamic knowledge, which they have learnt from their teachers, who learnt from their teachers with an unbroken chain all the way back to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ.
